Reflecting patterns of life and death – this old tree is showing it’s age. The trunks of younger trees are maturing around it. I wanted to portray the never ending cycle of life in the forest – where death for one means life for another. SOLD

The section of this River Red Gum appealed to me simply because of the effect of light and shade on the trunks and the vibrant blue sky, making for a colourful backdrop. I also love this shape which suited the subject perfectly.
