GREAT WEATHER FOR FUNGI

As my studio has been damp and growing its own fungi in the form of mould  – I decided to head for my local rain forest gully – camera in  one hand and my brolly in the other! For a long time now I have wanted to paint a series of fungi paintings but never really had enough interesting material to work with. This humid and damp weather has delivered some stunning fungi – and only a few minutes walk from my home.

So hopefully sometime in the not too distant future I will be able to bring about my series of small fungi paintings.

The photo above is of a fungi commonly called the Veiled Lady Fungus – Phallus Indusiatus . It is one of the stinkhorn family of fungus and definitely stank!!
