Hi all -the studio has been a busy place this past month with many painting accumulating for my next exhibition WILD. Not much has been going out to galleries but at least it has given me an opportunity to adjust bits in the paintings where I need to. Living with a painting for a certain time is very helpful in refining the end result. It is amazing how a small fault can jump out and become surprisingly obvious – given time.
I have also taken the opportunity to get out of the studio to engage with nature – an essential part of my being as a wilderness artist. Mulheran’s Masterpiece is a newly restored walk in the upper Blue Mountains. Overgrown for 30 years it has been opened up by a group of volunteers and is a wonderful short walk if views are what you are after! It was refreshing to get out and do this walk twice this week and find some great reference material at the same time.
A new workshop ‘Aspects of Water’ is happening next May 6-7-8 2015 at Gladstone, Queensland. Contact info is on my Workshops Page. My ‘Aspects of Water’ workshops are all different and include lots of varying forms of water and its behaviour.
More next time.
