There hasn’t been much happening of late apart from me working flat out in my studio on paintings for my next exhibition. One nice thing I did do however was to take a walk with some friends to CASTLE HEAD in the Blue Mountains where you can see one the best views of MOUNT SOLITARY. It’s a bit of a drive along narrow neck Road and from there the walk return is about 5 or 6 kilometers – but worth it for the view. I have already done several paintings from this spot from another trip but more to come after this visit. I am looking forward to starting another painting of Mount Solitary soon. I like to paint from an area I have just visited so I can keep hold of the feeling and vibe. I was also intrigued to watch a family of about 6 Cunningham’s Skinks that greedily ate some of my fig that I tossed to them. Beautiful little lizards!
Unfortunately the trip I had planned with WATER NSW to the BURRAGORANG VALLEY was cancelled over Easter due to the wet weather. I will have to wait now till mid-May for the next opportunity.
