Well there’s been very little news of late as you can imagine, being locked down for some time and with  Covid-19 being at the forefront of our minds and lives. The Great Ocean Road Plein Air workshop was cancelled after 9 days, with border closures being imminent. The group was  very happily painting outdoors each day with not a care in the world.  TWISTED GIANT is a portrait of one of the amazing, moss covered Antarctic Beech Trees of the Lamington National Park on the Border Ranges between NSW and Queensland. These moss covered trees are very ancient – some up to 3,000 years old. It is my joy to walk among these giants. Often a mist swirls in giving the feeling of other worldliness. SPOTLIT TURTLE – 31x41cm. SOLD This is an underwater painting of a Lady Elliot Turtle where the turtles come up on to the sand just outside the units to lay their eggs. Hatchlings emerge during April. As I am heading back at the beginning of May I am hoping to see some stragglers and also come back with some photos of more turtles.
